Gopichand | The Mentor

Hats off to Gopichand for nurturing two exceptional talent in field of Badminton for #India ! First Saina Nehwal & now P.V. Sindu. I am sure that journey as would have been equally challenging for him as it would be for the player. And its his love and passion for Badminton coupled with determination of players that we could claim our first Gold in World Championship. 

This demonstrates importance of having a good Mentor in life. Point to ponder is how actively we invest in building such Mentors in the system be it a field of sports or in Corporates. Further how much we value such people and bring best out of them so that they  can bring best out of their mentees.

Conversation Intelligence @ Reliance Jio

It was pleasure conducting workshop on hashtag#ConversationIntellignece for Young Leaders of Jio HR Team. Thoroughly enjoyed interacting with all of them on topics ranging from hashtag#Councelling, hashtag#Coaching, hashtag#Mentoring, hashtag#ReverseMentoring & hashtag#Feedback. Thanks to Harjeet Khanduja for providing this opportunity & Girijesh Srivastava for making it happen with all the coordination support. At last thanks to enthusiastic participation of batch (Aishwarya, Jesuraj, JUSTIN, Navjot, Somesh, Soni, Gunjan, Poonam, Manish, Glynelle, Samriti, Joel, Venessia and others) which made it special. · Explored 4 new cities/towns & met few old friends

· Spent quality time with #family (need to do more in 2019)

· Dedicated 10 days on multiple topic of interest towards #learning new things

While those were some of the things that gives me a sense of #accomplishment. I look forward to check off some pending items & take up new #Goals in #2019, which definitely includes learning more, preparing for 42km #Marathon & connecting with old #friends more often.

Conversation with Gaurav

Hello everyone! I am always fascinated by concepts related to #ConversationalIntelligence & different #ConversationTechniques. I have designed and developed a 90 min short discussion based workshop named - "Conversation with Gaurav".

Attempt is to help people in understanding & differentiating between #Counselling, #Coaching, #Mentoring, #ReverseMentoring & #Feedback. Session will comprise of role plays & live sessions. As of now I delivered a pilot workshop of 90 mins and it was well received. Few HR friends has already asked me to conduct it for their teams. I will be doing it on pro-bono basis :) This can be expanded upto 3 hours depending on the need of the audience. I have developed this pilot piece over my last 7-8 years of understanding of the subject. Apart from managers, I believe it can certainly help students/Young Manager to understand the meaning of these 4-5 words with conceptual clarity. I will be more than happy to share this with you if you feel this is something worth discussing. You can connect me with some institutes as well who may be interested in something like this.

Standing Workstations!

I have been constantly promoting #standing #workstations for past 4 years. I can be found operating out of self-assigned standing workspace at office sometimes. For me its four and a half feet cabinet next to my workstation which is very helpful indeed to stand and work. I truly believe that workspace needs to become more ergonomic with low cost and effective solutions to create the win-win proposition for both Employees and Employers. As #TimCook, #Apple #CEO endorsing standing workstation in the attached article I hope it will trigger more people to think on these lines and make more health friendly workstations. Not only workstations but meetings rooms can also become standing meeting rooms for short and effective meetings. Tim says "#SittingIsNewCancer". Few others have already said that "#SittingIsNewSmoking". Let's see how long it takes for Indian and other Global organizations to start implementing this new concept in the workspace. This movement provided them an opportunity to think about their wellness. We will launch new initiatives as part of Fitness movement as we proceed. We aspire to keep this energy alive and growing. Being a pharmaceutical "Improving Lives" is deeply rooted in us and we are constantly demonstrating it through such initiatives for our employees.
